The aim of this study was to determine the difference in displacement of a newly designed intramedullary olecranon fracture fixation device compared with multifilament tension band wiring after 4 cycles and 300 cycles of dynamic continuous loading.In eight pairs of fresh-frozen cadaver ulnae, oblique olecranon fractures were created and stabilized using either newly designed intramedullary olecranon nail or multifilament tension band wiring. Neonatal problems of late and moderate preterm infants.

International audience; Late and moderate preterm infants account for \textgreater80% of premature births. These newborns experience considerable mortality and morbidity in comparison with full-term born infants. The purpose of this paper is to summarise the most common morbidities of late and moderate preterm infants in the neonatal period, their incidence, severity, risk factors and need for admission to the different levels of care. The recent findings on preventive strategies and management priorities for clinical care of these vulnerable babies are also reviewed.

Asthma and chronic bronchitis are inflammatory diseases with extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and collagen deposition. Collagen homeostasis is controlled by metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). We evaluated MMP and TIMP balance in induced sputum of 10 control, 31 untreated asthmatic, and 16 chronic bronchitic subjects. We first performed zymographic analysis to identify the profile of MMPs. Zymography revealed a similar MMPs profile in all populations studied and that MMP-9 was the major enzyme released.
